FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers

18th January 2020

Uganda vs Tanzania- Dar es salaam

The National U20 women football has continued with residential training since last Friday at the FUFA technical center, Njeru a day after entering residential camp in preparation for the forthcoming FIFA U20 Women World Cup Qualifiers tie against Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Saturday, 18th January 2020 before the return leg a week later in Kampala.

Five (5) of the 30 players summoned are yet to report to camp as they still have another engagement with U17 Women National Team that beat Ethiopia 2-0 on Saturday at the StarTimes stadium, Lugogo in the FIFA U17 Women World Cup Qualifiers, first leg. “We started on a slow note because it has been a while since we came together but by the end of the seven days that we have here, the players will have picked up the needed grades,” noted Mbekeka, who expressed worry over the poor fitness level of players.

She said that much of the emphasis was on physical training on the sand at the start.
