St. Lawrence University (SLAU) are looking to go top of the table when they host Gulu University this Friday at Crown Campus, Kavulu in the Group B of the Pepsi University Football League. St. Lawrence who emerged third last season, are currently second on the group with 2 points from 2 games. A win against Gulu will be their first of the season and can see them go top of the table pending the results of the Uganda Martyrs University, Nkozi (UMU) game against Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) on Saturday. St. Lawrence coach Nnono Ssozi said that his team is well prepared for the game. “We are well rested after our trip to Mbale against IUIU and I believe that this time round, we shall get our first win of the season. The boys have been training hard and we are going to give it our all against Gulu and make sure we get all the three points from the game,” Nnono said. Gulu University head coach Okello Calvin, looks at the as an opportunity to bounce back following the previous away loss to UMU. “We have not been playing well away from home and one of the things we want to do is to break that. We are going to take the game to St. Lawrence and I expect a good result,” Okello said. The Pepsi-sponsored league action continues this Saturday as UMU host IUIU at Nkozi while on Monday, Bishop Stuart University host Nkumba University.
