Otoho d’Oyo vs KCCA FC, Stade Omnisport

KCCA FC are eager to continue impressing at the continent when they take on Otoho d’Oyo FC in Congo Brazzaville this Sunday in the CAF Confederations Cup, Pre-group stage first leg.

The two teams meet for the first time in the competition’s history and the Uganda Cup champions are desperate to storm the group stage of this season’s competition to maintain a recognizable status at the continent.

Mike Mutebi’s side played in the CAF Champions group stage last season, and will be desperate to take a decent away result this weekend ahead of the return leg at home.

KCCA named a 31-man travelling contingent to Congo Brazzaville which comprised of 18 players, eight technical team members and five officials. Fufa Executive committee member Hamid Juma led the contingent that flew out on Friday aboard Rwanda Air.

Mutebi vowed to unleash an offensive side in Congo. “We have rubbed shoulders with the best clubs at the continent and I think we are able to win in Congo.

We are going to play our way; maintain our style and philosophy in Congo. We are not concerned about playing away from home, my players have gradually matured and can ably play at this stage,” noted Mutebi, who will be without injured midfielders Jackson Nunda and Sadam Juma. KCCA beat Mtibwa Sugar of Tanzania both home and away in the two legs at the previous stage and will be eager to replicate similar performance against Otoho –starting today at Stade Omnisport Marien Ngouabi –Owando. Benin match officials will be in charge today. They will be led by Adissa Abdul Raphiou Ligali as Center referee and will be assisted by fellow countrymen Gbèmassiandan Narcisse Kouton (Assistant referee 1)  and Eric Ayimavo  Ayamr Ulrich (Assistant referee 2) and Djindo Louis Houngnandande (Fourth Official). Jean Claude Niyongabo will be the match commissioner.
